Galileo -- Learn with the first Smart Star

So, in this section of the blog posts In these blogs I will be adding relevant astronomy and astrophysics to accompany our smart telescope observing. But, you know, when I was getting started with my first smart telescope during the first year of the COVID lockdown, I wrote a book especially for this community. Of course I had to make sure and get Galileo caught up too. So, I wrote this book. It draws a lot upon my thorough educational background in astrophysics at the University of Chicago with teachers like S. Chandrasekhar and E. N. Parker. I like it in part because I used my first smart telescope images to illustrate it. The paperback edition is especially nice because we had a great designer put it all together too. You can find it on Amazon by just searching the title.

I started your book last night. Very clever idea and well done in substance. Got me to image the Beehive in honor of Galileo‘s imaging.

I downloaded your book, and will read it soon. My astronomy club in Rockford wants me to do a presentation on my Vespera, as most are still unfamiliar with smart scopes. I think we are on the verge of a revolution for outreach and expansion of the hobby, especially in urban areas, once more in the astronomy community become educated on this new equipment. Maybe sometime you could reach out to our club, either via zoom, or in person?

Sounds good. I'm supposed to go speak for the Peoria science museum in November. I have done a Zoom talk for the Naperville Astronomical Association too. I'd like to help you some how.
